Tobar an Cheoil is the third collaborative album by Monaghan-born harper and composer, Michael Rooney, and Sligo-born flute player, June McCormack, having previously released Land’s End in 2006 and Draíocht in 2004.

While individually, both players have continued to burnish their substantial musical credentials, together as the duo, Draíocht, they have created a remarkable synergy of outstanding, rich, melodic and subtle music with their unique blend of harp and flute, which has delighted audiences in the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

With over 55 minutes of music, Tobar an Cheoil offers a fourteen-track album with a difference, a mixture of traditional tunes as well as twelve of Michael’s original compositions. The album displays an unusual variety of tempi, incorporating several reel and jig sets, in addition to newly composed hop-jigs, slip jigs, a number of airs and planxties by Michael.
