The Traditude weekend festival will feature a stellar array of international, national and local trad, folk and roots acts live in the specially constructed Traditorium at the rear of Gleeson’s Bar on Main Street, Ferbane, Co.Offaly.
Headlining Sunday’s programme are Talisk. One of Scotland’s most popular folk-based groups to emerge in the last decade, Talisk have toured the world stacking up major awards for their explosively energetic yet artfully woven sound, including Folk Band of the Year at the BBC Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award, and the Belhaven Bursary for Innovation. Boasting two former BBC Alba Traditional Musicians of the Year in concertina player Mohsen Amini and fiddle player Bene Morris, Talisk combine artistic brilliance with infectious energy. 2019 Tradituders will remember Bene’s previous appearance as part of a duo with Cormac Crummey.
Among the other artists performing on Sunday are two bands with strong local connections: Splendid Isolation and Danny Guinan and O’Dreams.
