Event Details

Singer-songwriter, Sive, has developed a truly compelling style of alt-folk. Her musical journey began in earnest when, after finishing school, she went to Ballyfermot College to study music.  Awarded a scholarship in the Netherlands, she began rehearsing, gigging and recording with some fellow music students. In 2014 she decided to pursue an MA in Community Music which has led to a vibrant career as a music facilitator in community and healthcare settings in Kildare and Dublin.

In 2017, Sive released her debut album, The Roaring Girl, after a successful crowd-funding campaign. Live shows followed across Ireland, Europe and New Zealand, as well as appearances at a number of festivals including Electric Picnic, Temple Bar TradFest, Body & Soul, TSB Festival of Lights (New Zealand), Cúirt International Festival of Literature and Dublin Book Festival with Poetry Ireland. She also won the audience choice vote to appear on RTE’s Other Voices and appeared on TV in Ireland and a number of other European countries.

In 2018 Sive recorded a series of songs in the Veta Records studios in Berlin and released a self-titled EP in May 2019. A single, Storybook Moon, was released in June 2020. Her new album, We Begin in Darkness, is scheduled for release at the end of April.
