Event Details

With seven core members, Shaskeen has made seventeen records, and toured extensively throughout Ireland, Britain, Europe and North America.

The band originated fifty-two years ago in The Oxford Tavern, Kentish Town, London when Tom Cussen responded to a request from the proprietor. Since then Shaskeen has evolved from being a quintet to a sextet and now an octet – with the current line up comprising Cussen on tenor banjo and mandolin, Eamon Cotter on flute and tin whistle, Geraldine Cotter on piano and tin whistle, Patsy McDonagh on accordion, David Sanders on fiddle and vocals, John Donnellan on bodhrán and vocals. Having lost two members – piper Pat Broderick and guitarist and vocalist, Pat Costelloe – at the start of the pandemic in March and April 2020, the band has made two new additions to the line-up: Mary Liddy on concertina and Katie Theasby on vocals, flute and whistle..

Tickets, each costing €25 (plus €2 booking fee) are available from
