Master fiddler Kevin Burke (above) is a veteran of traditional music. From The Bothy Band to Patrick Street, he has been at the centre of innovation within the tradition. Kevin has been awarded a National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, the highest honour given in the United States for folk and traditional arts, and in 2016 receieved the TG4 Gradam Ceol, as Traditional Musician of the Year.
The Goodman Trio comprise acclaimed uileann piper Mick O’Brien, multi-instrumentalist Emer Mayock and the renowned fiddle player, Aoife Ní Bhriain. The fabulously talented trio will perform music from the Goodman Collection. A native of Dingle and Professor of Irish at Trinity College, Dublin, Canon James Goodman compiled over 2,000 Irish tunes which were deposited after his death in Trinity College Library.
All proceeds from the event will go to Amber Women’s Refuge.
