Event Details

FourWinds’ influences include Begley and Cooney, The Bothy Band, Planxty, Brady and Irvine, and Moving Hearts. Awarded the prestigious Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections early on in their career, the band was also chosen as one of three finalists in the Rising Stars Competition, held by The Gathering in Killarney, Ireland.

While FourWinds has been in existence since 2013, its members  have also all toured extensively throughout Europe and North America for many years with their many other solo and group projects (inlcuding Perfect Friction,  Coast to Coast, The Daoirí Farrell Trio and the Tom Delany and Caroline Keane duo).

With original vocalist and bouzouki player, Daoirí Farrell, departing to pursue a largely solo career, he was seamlessly replaced by Alan Murray in the line-up which also includes Tom Delany on uilleann pipes and whistles, Caroline Keane on concertina, and Robbie Walsh on bodhrán.

With a number of albums to their cumulative credit, the quartet is currently working on a long-awaited follow-up to their debut album, FourWinds.
