Hailing from Balla, Co Mayo, Éadaoin Ní Mhaicín is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist – who has playing since the age of four. Equally at home with harp, fiddle and piano with a staggering amount of All-Ireland titles, she also sings in the sean nós style. A primary teacher in West Dublin, she also holds a first class Master’s degree from the University of Limerick.

She has appeared on international stages in Britain, Europe, North America, China and Kazakhstan as well as major Irish venues like Croke Park, RDS, Marlay Park, the National Concert Hall and Áras an Uachtaráin.

In 2014 Éadaoin made history by becoming this first Irish person to win the Trophée des Harpes Camac at Festival Interceltique de Lorient, France. In 2022 she joined the cast of the Broadway production of ‘Velocity Irish Dance’ with World Champion Irish dancer David Geaney.

Éadaoin also performs with fiddle virtuoso, Frankie Gavin, as a member of the fiddle quartet, The Provenance. She also plays with the National Folk Orchestra of Ireland and has appeared many times on television and radio in these islands.

For this show, she will be joined by Co. Down flute and whistle player, Martha Guiney – winner of the BBC Northern Ireland and Arts Council of Northern Ireland Young Musicians’ Platform Award – and Glasgow’s concertina virtuoso, Mohsen Amini – two time BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards winner and founder member of the bands, Talisk and Ímar.
