Formed less than a year ago the Down Singing Circle has gone from strength to strength. Meeting every third Saturday in the historic backroom of Fealty’s Bar, it provides a platform for all those interested in singing or listening to traditional County Down song. The circle has already appeared on three local television programmes and made a number of performances at the Ulster Folk Museum, Cultra.
At this session which is part of the Columbanus Community Folk Festival, the circle will be joined by Jodan Lively, a young singer from Mayobridge. In addition to singing, he composes and is a fine instrumentalist and is presently studying at the World Music Centre at the University of Limerick.
Everyone is very welcome to come along to what will be an entertaining afternoon of song and craic. Admission is free.
