TuneFest takes over Dungarvan with concerts, workshops, pub session trails, street busking, album launches and recitals.

Headlining Sunday’s programme are local favourites, Danú.

Hailing from Counties Waterford, Cork, Dublin and Donegal, Danú is one of the leading traditional bands in Ireland. Formed in 1995 as part of Ireland’s delegation to Lorient Inter-Celtic Festival in Brittany. Eight more albums have followed.

For over two decades Danú’s virtuosi players on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, bouzouki, and vocals (Irish and English) have delighted audiences worldwide. Winners of numerous awards, Danú has toured throughout Europe and North America.

Since 2016, Nell Ní Chróinín has been the band’s featured vocalist. Nell was awarded the TG4 Gradam for Singer of the Year 2012 as well as the Corn Uí Riada for sean-nós singing at the Oireachtas festival in 2014.
