Three of Ireland’s most accomplished traditional musicians come together for a magical night of music to kick off the Clare Island Folk Festival.

She is the winner of both the coveted Fiddler of Dooney and Michael Coleman Fiddle competitions as well as the All-Ireland. Senior Fiddle title at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Cavan in 2011. In recent years she has toured with the Chieftains, Stockton’s Wing and Dónal Lunny’s Atlantic Arc.

Perhaps best known as an accordionist, Clare-based Josephine Marsh is another multi-instrumentalist – who can also turn her hand to the fiddle, concertina, whistle, mandolin, guitar and banjo. Her compositions have been recorded by many eminent artists such as Cherish the Ladies, Mike McGoldrick and John McSherry, Padraig Rynne, The London Lassies and Líadan.

Regarded as the most significant harper of her generation, Laoise Kelly has played on over 60 albums with many of Ireland’s foremost artists. She won three all-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil harp competitions. Laoise has revolutionised the solo Irish harp. Originally from Westport, Co. Mayo, and now living on Achill Island, she is the founder of the Achill International Harp Festival. Her consummate musicianship has been acknowledged with the award of a TG4 Gradam Ceoil as Musician of the Year in 2020.
