Poor Creature (pictured above) are Cormac Mac Diarmada (Lankum) and Ruth Clinton (Landless). They perform new interpretations of old songs, accompanied by viola, guitar, synth and theremin. Drawing inspiration from Irish and American traditional music their music has dark and dreamy undertones and features themes of love, loss and the supernatural.
Aoife Hammond is a singer and multi-instrumentalist based in County Leitrim. Aoife has composed original electronic and acoustic scores using synthesizers, bouzouki, guitars, mandolin and vocals. This performance will be the first time these compositions will be heard live, with special accompaniment by multi-instrumentalist Magnus Nymo.

Damien Dempsey’s new collaborations album, Union, was released in November 2018 and in the UK in early 2019. It features recordings with friends including John Grant, Kae Tempest, Imelda May, Finbarr Furey and Sinéad O’Connor.
Dempsey’s debut album in 2000, They Don’t Teach This Shit in School, set him apart as a unique and important voice, championed from an early stage in his career by Sinéad O’Connor. The follow-up, Seize the Day, marked the beginning of his relationship with producer John Reynolds, picking up many awards and leading to extensive international tours. Commercial and critical success continued with the release of the No. 1 album, Shots (2005), backed by Brian Eno, and To Hell or Barbados (2007), which debuted at No.2 in the Irish charts. He released studio album, Soulsun, in May 2017.
With five Top 10 albums under his belt Damien has an impressive back catalogue and undeniable staying power. Renowned also for his searing live shows, 2018 was one of Damien’s most successful to date before the pandemic brought everything to a halt.
This event rescheduled from July 10, 2020 and July 10, 2021. Tickets for original date remain valid. Tickets, each costing €42, may be available from www.ticketmaster.ie/damien-dempsey-dublin-10-07-2020/event/18005755845C1FED.

Christy Moore has played an integral role in the evolution of music on this island. Aside from his long and productive solo career, he is a founding member of the iconic bands Planxty and Moving Hearts. His powerfully relatable stories of the human condition resonate beyond the community.
Christy released his new album Flying into Mystery, in November 2021, featuring a collection of twelve songs. Speaking about his latest project, Christy said ‘It has been a very different album recording process this time around…. Since 1969 I have been involved in recording but never with a total absence of live performance. Since March 2020 all my focus has been on this album. Once more I’ve been privileged to receive some great songs which kept me well occupied. I produced with Jim Higgins and David Meade engineered the project. There are songs from Ricky Lynch, Paul Doran, Mick Hanly, Wally Page, Tom Tuohy, Gary Moore, Jim Page and Bob Dylan. These sit side by side with traditional songs and a couple of my own offerings. …Thanks for listening….’

Event Details
Back by popular demand for his fourth annual Summer residency following an unprecented ten-night sellout run in the summer of 2017, and another sellout run in Summer 2018 and 2019, Seán Keane will perform at Westport Town Hall Theatre every Wednesday from July 13 to August 31. Seán will be joined by Pat Coyne, and Fergus Feely.
Decribed as the “greatest musical find of the 90s” by The London Independent. Seán’s repertoire encompasses traditional, folk and even country and blues songs. Growing up in a family of singers and musicians, Seán learned the sean-nós style of singing from his mother and his aunts.
Singing was his life, even in early childhood; by the time Seán reached his teens, he had collected thirteen All-Ireland medals in Fleadh Ceoil competitions. He was by then an accomplished whistle and flute player and had taken up the uilleann pipes and bodhran.
When he joined his first group, Shegui, he had already served a long apprenticeship; after travelling throughout Europe with the band, he left to join Reel Union, a group which also featured sister Dolores and accordion player Máirtín O`Connor. Later, he was part of Arcady, with such well known names as Johnny `Ringo` McDonagh, Sharon Shannon and Frances Black.
After a short flirtation with the theatre when he played in the Druid production of The Midnight Court and the Abbey Theatre`s Sheep`s Milk on the Boil, Seán embarked on his solo career in 1993. All Heart , No Roses received rave reviews and was chosen as Debut Folk Album of the Year by Q Magazine. In the years following, success continued with Meteor Award nominations, Best Male Folk Performer from Irish Music Magazine (three times) ,a similar award from the London Irish World,as well as numerous Irish accolades. A Portrait, a collection of Seán`s songs, was a multi-platinum Irish seller. All of his solo albums are platinum sellers and remain in constant demand. Seán Keane continues to delight audiences all over the world with his live performances and recorded work. He tours regularly with his band in Ireland, Austria, Germany, the US and Canada as well as appearing at major festivals worldwide.
Seán’s tenth solo album, New Day Dawning, is proving very popular with his fans, Seán continues to get much radio play with songs like Isle of Hope Isle of Tears, Galway to Graceland and Home Way from Home still proving very popular with his listeners. New material like Paint Me a Picture of Ireland, Nature’s Little Symphony, Don’t Teach Me How to Cry and One More Hour are now becoming standards in his show.

In one of a series of three concerts at An Grianan Theatre, Letterkenny being filmed by Aniar TV and broadcast by TG4 at a later date, Goitse will be joined by the Henry Girls and Na SíFiddlers.
The popular and multi-award-winning quintet, Goitse (pictured above) was formed at Irish World Academy at the University of Limerick. Named as the Live Ireland Traditional Group of the Year, the Chicago Irish American News Group of the Year, as well as winning the prestigious Freiburger International Leiter award in Germany, Goitse is one of the leading ensembles in the new generation of traditional Imusicians.
From Inishowen the three sisters, Karen, Lorna and Joleen, who make up the Henry Girls, interweave traditional music with bluegrass, jazz and country with compassion, insight, and warmth, both in their lyrics and their musicianship.
Na SíFiddlers are a group of thirteen female Donegal fiddlers celebrating the healthy state of female fiddling in Donegal. In the autumn of 2019 the SíFiddlers ventured into the recording studio to produce their debut album showcasing some of the most popular and better known Donegal repertoire from all parts of the county.

Event Details
In one of a series of three concerts at An Grianan Theatre, Letterkenny being filmed by Aniar TV and broadcast by TG4 at a later date, Diane Cannon, Manus Lunny and Theresa Kavanagh will be joined by Clann Mhic Ruairí and Honeyfeet.
Forged out of the centuries-old traditions of her native Donegal, acclaimed traditional singer, Diane Cannon (pictured above), brings the songs and the music played by the hearth fire of a long gone céilí house to modern audiences.
Manus Lunny lives in the Donegal Gaeltacht and comes from a family steeped in the musical tradition of Ireland. A gifted instrumentalist, singer, composer and producer, Manus has earned a reputation as one of the most significant performers in traditional music.
Theresa Kavanagh has performed at some of Celtic Music’s largest festivals, such as Celtic Connections, Le Festival Interceltique de Lorient and Celtic Colours, and has also worked with leading musicians like Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Manus Lunny, Michael McGoldrick and Donal Lunny.
Clann Mhic Ruairí is a Donegal family group, made up of siblings Tony (singer), Aodh (singer/guitar), Seán (singer), Dónall (singer/percussion) and Tony’s daughter Megan (piano and singer). As a family they were raised on the songs and stories of the Rann na Feirste Gaeltacht.
Honeyfeet have spent the past nine years tearing around festival stages and theatres, clubs and fields melting down blues and pop, jazz and disco, pushing air molecules around with instruments and making friends in the process. It helps that they are fronted by Ríoghnach Connolly “a remarkable singer and flautist who…can ease from Irish traditional influences to soul” (The Guardian).

This Belfast Tradfest concert explores the traditions of Scotland and Ireland through bagpiping, uilleann piping, fifing, flute, tin whistle, drumming and bodhrán, featuring some leading players of these instruments.
Alastair Donaghy from Omagh, Co.Tyrone, is a member of the Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band, with whom he has won several major championships, including two world titles, the most recent in August 2018. Alastair was also crowned Young Piper of the Year in 2014. He now competes at senior level.
Acclaimed by the Irish Times as “just about the best tin whistle player this century,” Mary Bergin released her first solo album, Feadóga Stáin, in 1979, which continues to be regarded as a classic. She has toured extensively in Europe, America and in Australia playing in concerts and festivals, and giving workshops and seminars.
Gareth McLees from Belfast began drumming when he was 8 years old – playing for Glasdrummond and North Belfast Pipe Bands. He was taught by Stephen Rourke of the Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band, and the drumming legend, the late Bobby Rea, himself a three-time World Solo Champion and Champion of Champions.
Belfast TradFest board members, Ian Burrows and Andy McGregor, are highly regarded players of the highland pipes and the smallpipes who have performed and taught music the world over.
The vibrant recording heritage of the 1920s and 1930s has had a huge influence on the flute-playing of Harry Bradley (pictured above), as has the playing of musicians such as Séamus Tansey, Desi Wilkinson and piper, Séamus Ennis. From South Belfast, Harry received the TG4 Gradam Ceoil as Traditional Musician of the Year in 2014.
Tara Bingham from Comber in Co. Down learned her early music from her father, Leslie Bingham, also a flute player. She is one of a group of accomplished flute players who emerged from the greater Belfast area in the late 1970s, and is renowned for the tone and smoothness of her playing.
Mikie Smyth began playing the pipes in the Pipers Club in Henrietta Street, Dublin. He has performed both as a soloist and with shows (Riverdance and Ragus) in over 25 countries. He has recorded with Dónal Lunny, Maurice Lennon, Seán Keane and the Rubberbandits.
Virtuoso bodhran player, Tommy Hayes, has been at the forefront of traditional Irish music for over forty years. He has performed and recorded with most of the great names in traditional music and beyond. He has been a member of a number of ground-breaking groups, including Stockton’s Wing, Puck Fair, Altan, Liam O’Flynn and the Pipers Call Band and the Eileen Ivers Band.

Event Details
The Belfast Harp Festival, called by contemporary writers “The Belfast Harpers Assembly”, was a four-day event running from July 11 to July 14, 1792, organised by merchant class Presbyterians Dr. James McDonnell, Robert Bradshaw and Henry Joy, (proprietor of the Belfast News-Letter and uncle to Henry Joy McCracken). Its purpose was to revive an interest in harp music and to collect the music of the harpers and note their style of playing for future generations. But what was hoped to be a revival, proved to be a farewell to the old tradition.
Of the eleven harpers who attended, seven were blind. The eldest, Denis Hempson (1695 -1807) from Derry, was 97. He was the only one to use the ancient way of playing with the fingernails. Yet the festival bequeathed one major enduring legacy. A young man from Armagh named Edward Bunting(1773-1843), was employed to write down the music of the harpers, and to make notes on their instrumental techniques. He dedicated the rest of his life to collecting and preserving Irish music. He published three volumes of music, collectively known as the Ancient Music of Ireland.
This concert will pay tribute to that event and to the Bunting Collection. The artists performing tonight are:
- Máire Ní Chathasaigh (harp)
- Steve Cooney (guitar)
- Brìghde Chaimbeul (small pipes)
- Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh (flute and vocals)
- Edwina Guckian (dance)

With a title taken from a line in the poem, Mná na hÉireann, written by South East Ulster poet, Peadar Ó Doirnín (1700–1769), and perhaps more widely known as a song set to an air by Seán Ó Riada in 1969, this concert celebrates some of the finest female traditional performers in Ireland.
One of Ireland’s favourite singers, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh from west Kerry, has had a long track record of producing critically acclaimed albums, as well as enjoying a successful broadcasting career on both television and radio. She toured the world as a member of Danú, and her song repertoire is as wide as it is deep.
Recent TG4 Gradam Ceoil winner Angelina Carberry (pictured above) is an exceptional banjo player, known for her solid rhythm and delicate articulation. She is from a very well-known Longford musical family and she is steeped in the tradition.
Caitlín Nic Gabhann is a concertina player, teacher, composer and percussive dancer. Having toured for years as a dancer with Riverdance, three-time All-Ireland concertina champion, Caitlín is a regular performer at festivals and in concert halls around the world.
Harpist and sean-nós singer, Síle Denvir is deeply influenced by her upbringing in the Connemara Gaeltacht where she was surrounded by music and song from an early age. She is a founding member of the group Líadan. She has toured with the Chieftains and was recently involved in Martin Hayes’ Common Ground project.
Edwina Guckian has now taught her steps and shared the stage with some of Ireland’s most influential acts such as Altan, De Danann, Dervish, Mairtín O Connor, Frankie Gavin, Kíla, Martin Hayes, Séamus Begley, and Laoise Kelly to name a few. She set up Áirc Damhsa Culture Club for young people in her area to have a space to be immersed in traditions and cultures from home and all across the world in a fun and non – competitive environment. Earlier this year, she was awarded the TG4 Gradam Comaoine for her outstanding contribution to culture.
Doireann Ní Ghlacáin hails from the north-side of Dublin, and is steeped in the rich musical tradition of the area. From her paternal family, the Glackins, she learnt the fiddle under the tutelage of her father, Kevin. She has recently completed a PhD at NUI Galway. Much of her thesis relates to the music studied by her maternal grandfather, Seán Ó Riada.

A special Belfast Tradfest edition of the Sunflower Folk Club will include contributions from the floor along with performances by two guests: Dàibhidh Stiùbhard and Miadhachlughain O’Donnell.
Dàibhidh Stiùbhard (pictured above) from Tullywiggan, near Cookstown in Co. Tyrone, His debut album, An Sionnach Dubh, was a collection of songs from the Ulster, Irish language and Scots Gàidhlig traditions as well as some original compositions. Though regarded as a traditional singer, he admits on the liner notes of that album: “I was not born into or brought up with the tradition. I came from a Church of Ireland background, yet traditional music did creep into my childhood. As I grew older, I slowly reclaimed the right to own my native culture and language… and yet at times, I feel like An Sionnach Dubh (The Black Fox). A strange little creature outside the norm, finding my way through the vast rich realm of songs native to these islands.”
In 2018, the Ulster University photography graduate won the senior singing title at the Ulster Fleadh. That year, too, he guested with acclaimed Scottish folk band, Malinky, on their twentieth anniversary album and, joined them on-stage at n Glasgow’s Celtic Connections in 2019.
Miadhachlughain O’Donnell is a young flute player and traditional singer from Castlewellan Co. Down. Growing up steeped in and surrounded by traditional music, it is no coincidence that she is blossoming into a consummate and charismatic performer. Her mother, Tiona McSherry, was the lead singer in the highly acclaimed 1990s band, Tamalin, and her uncle, John McSherry, is a master uilleann piper and has variously been a member of Dónal Lunny’s Coolfin, Lúnasa, At First Light, Ulaid and The Olllam.

The son of the celebrated fiddler, Gerry O’Connor, and the traditional singer, Eithne Ní Uallacháin of Lá Lugh, Dónal plays a variety of instruments but is probably best known as a fiddler. As well as Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, he has played and recorded with a wide variety of other artists including Dónal Lunny, Steve Cooney, Davy Spillane, Moya Brennan, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Grainne Holland, Cathal McConnell, Duke Special, Mary Dillon, John Spillane and Barry Kerr.
Dónal has also toured the world as both a lead and backing instrumentalist with a number of bands including Lá Lugh, At First Light, Ulaid and A Stór Mo Chroí. As well as composing music for theatre, television and film, he has also presented music shows for BBC NI, TG4, BBC Alba, BBC Radio Ulster and Raidio na Gaeltachta. Dónal is produced Róisín ReImagined, the recent collaboration between Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh and The Irish Chamber Orchestra.
West of Ireland native and current Dingle resident, Gerry O’Beirne, is a self-taught master of the six- and twelve-string slide guitar as well as ukulele and other stringed instruments. Renowned as a tasteful accompanist, he is also a prolific composer of songs. His writing is a hybrid of the passion found in traditional music and the freshness of contemporary song. His songs have been recorded by Mary Black and Maura O’Connell as well as Muireann.
Gerry has toured the globe as a solo artist and with the Sharon Shannon Band, Patrick Street, Midnight Well, Andy M. Stewart, Kevin Burke, Andy Irvine, and the Waterboys. He has produced and arranged music for many others including Patrick Street, Kevin Burke and the late Micheál Ó Domhnaill.

Dublin-born traditional singer and bouzouki player Daoirí (pronounced ‘Derry’) Farrell has been as one of most important singers to come out of Ireland in recent years.
His acclaimed album, True Born Irishman, released in October 2016, led to three nominations at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2017 and two wins – for Best Traditional Track for Van Diemen’s Land from True Born Irishman and for Best Newcomer.
His next album, A Lifetime Of Happiness, produced by Dónal Lunny was released in February 2019 to renewed acclaim from the traditional music press.
‘Just occasionally you come across a singer so talented, so natural, that you feel you might as well give it all up and just listen in awe. Such a one is Daoirí Farrell….You may notice there’s no criticism in this review.’ Living Tradition
Three more award nominations followed – this time from the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards in 2019 for Best Singer, Best Traditional Track and Best Album..

Event Details
One of the most celebrated traditional fiddlers, Martin Hayes has assembled the Common Ground Ensemble with its roots in traditional Irish music – the common ground of their name – but with a wealth of talent spanning traditional music, improvisation, arrangement, jazz, avant-garde and cutting edge contemporary classical.
The line-up comprises Cormac McCarthy (piano, ‘Cottage Evolution’), Kate Ellis (cello, Artistic Director of Crash Ensemble), Kyle Sanna (guitar, a collaborator with Edgar Meyer and Chris Thile) and another alumnus of the Tulla Céilí Band, Brian Donnellan (bouzouki, harmonium and concertina).
Mining new nuggets of creative gold from the rich seams of the tradition has been a hallmark of Hayes’ career even though the foundations of his music remain firmly rooted in the music of East Co Clare. Born and raised in a locality filled with music, Martin Hayes drew huge inpsirastion from his father, P.J., and his uncle, Paddy Canny – both renowned fiddlers and founder members of the Tulla Céilí Band.
The Common Ground Ensemble is the latest chapter in the remarkable story of Martin Hayes’ musical life.

Taking inspiration from their roots in the Irish and English traditions, Flook have an enviable trademark sound, weaving and spinning traditionally rooted tunes over precise acoustic grooves, with a rare blend of fiery technical brilliance, delicate ensemble interaction and a bold, adventurous musical imagination. There is certainly no shortage of virtuosity amongst the members of Flook, but the unique impact of this band stems from the wholly intuitive, almost symbiotic, exchange between the various flutes, frets and skins.
More than twenty five years after their first gig together, Flook continue to inspire and enchant audiences of all ages. Their most recent album, Ancora, released in 2019 to critical acclaim and nominated for BBC Folk Album of the year, clearly demonstrates that, with their roots firmly anchored in the tradition, Flook still hold fast to their reputation as major musical innovators.
Flook are Brian Finnegan (whistles and flutes); Sarah Allen (flutes and accordion); Ed Boyd (guitar) and John Joe Kelly (bodhrán).

Awarded the prestigious Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections early on in their career, the band was also chosen as one of three finalists in the Rising Stars Competition, held by The Gathering in Killarney, Ireland.

SUPPORTED BY THE BRIDGE CÉILÍ BAND
Widely regarded as one of the most accomplished button accordion players of his generation, Daithí Gormley has an extensive repertoire steeped in the rich musical heritage of his native county, Sligo. He has performed at festivals and concerts nationally and internationally and makes regular appearances on radio and television. He has researched, published, and lectured on Irish traditional music.
Frankie Gavin has played fiddle and flute since his teenage years, winning All-Ireland competitions for both at age 17. Originally from Corrandulla in Co. Galway, his love of music began when he was given a tin whistle for his fourth birthday. Originally influenced by the great Irish and American-Irish fiddle players, such as James Morrison, he became co-founder of the leadling traditional band, Dé Danann (later De Dannan) – who, fronted by a succession of fmeale singers (including Dolores Keane, Mary Black, Maura O’Connell and Eleanor Shanley) established themselves as one of the country’s leading traditional ensembles. Subsequently as a solo performer, Frankie played with artists from other genres including the Rolling Stones, Stephane Grappelli and Yehudi Menuhin.
He has also led two further ensembles: the Roaring 20s Irish Orchestra and the fiddle quartet, The Provenance, as well as performing in the trio KGB – with piper, Paddy Keenan, and accordion player, Dermot Byrne.
Frankie was recognised as the TG4 Gradam Ceoil Traditional Musician of the Year in 2018.
Formed in 1970, the Bridge Céilí Band has won the Fleadh Cheoil Céilí Band competition six times. Over the years they have performed in concerts and céilí throughout Ireland as well as on radio and television.

The third and final concert in a trilogy devised by Mícheál with the National Symphony Orchestra (Elver Gleams, 2017; Between Worlds, 2018), Lumen will feature some of Mícheál’s most significant and popular orchestral works conducted by David Brophy and performed by a host of leading names including sean-nós singers Iarla Ó Lionáird, Lillis Ó Laoire and Síle Denvir; flute player Mike McGoldrick; saxophonist Kenneth Edge; traditional percussionist Mel Mercier; uilleann piper Mark Redmond; fiddlers Liz Doherty, Zoë Conway, Aidan O’Donnell and Katie Boyle and cellist Neil Martin.

As a founding member of FairPlé – the campaign for gender equality in traditional and folk music – Pauline Scanlon has always had a particular focus on the role of women in society as part of her creative impulse as well as in her activism. Her new album, The Unquiet, released last month, leans on traditional foundations, but within a modern contemporary context.
The Unquiet is her third collaboration with producer, John Reynolds. “All my life as a singer, I have been drawn to old songs. In them I find a solidarity with the ghosts of people I have never met and yet share fragments of feelings with,” explains Pauline. “This album is based on the life of my late mother, Eileen Scanlon, and her contemporaries in Irish society. The songs have a resonance and a purpose in reflecting her lived experience and that of modern-era women in Ireland, through my perspective.’
Scanlon is also a member of the acclaimed Atlantic Arc Orchestra project, led by Donal Lunny, and featuring master musicians including piper and singer, Jarlath Henderson, fiddler Tara Breen and Sharon Howley of the Kilfenora Céili Band. Another important string to her misucal bow in the last couple of years has been her collaboration with the Galway-based band,

Phelim Drew, actor and son of the Dubliners’ Ronnie Drew, is joined by his band on an intimate journey through Dubliners songs, other tunes close to Ronnie’s heart and his own memories of growing up in a home surrounded by music.
In the 13 years since Ronnie’s death, Phelim has come to enjoy listening back over his musical legacy and the wealth of material has reawakened not only a sense of pride but also appreciation: “Growing up, I was always struck by the electricity generated by a concert given by the Dubliners… That energy and excitement coupled with the unbridled joy of the audience made for a night’s entertainment that felt more like a party in full swing, where the host and guests were in perfect harmony.”

One of Ireland’s all-time most acclaimed and influential folk and traditional bands, The Fureys are associated with a string of classics like I Will Love You, When You Were Sweet 16, Red Rose Café, Leaving Nancy, From Clare to Here and The Green Fields of France.
The Furey brothers were still trying to make it as folk singers in the late 1960s when Eddie Furey shared flats with undiscovered fellow folkies, Billy Connolly, Ralph McTell and Gerry Rafferty, who all went on to make their mark.
”It was quite a group to be living under the same roof and we had great fun. I bet the neighbours never slept with all the singing and drinking.” says Eddie. So impressed were they by the quality of Gerry Rafferty’s songwriting at that time that they recorded his song, Her Father Didn’t Like Me Anyway – now one of the classics in The Fureys repertoire.
Eddie and George Furey are particularly proud of their UK chart success with songs like I Will Love You and When You Were Sweet Sixteen, which in turn helped bring their music to a completely new audience. The band made their Top of the Pops debut in 1981. They ran into a problem when the show’s producers insisted that their own backing tape be replaced by a tape recorded by in-house musicians. The Fureys weren’t prepared to have music that wasn’t their own played to TV’s watching millions. George had a solution: “When they weren’t looking, I replaced their tape with ours. No one knew I had switched them.”
The Fureys will jump at any chance to play… not just on stage. Stories of the band striking up spur of the moment music sessions with fellow music stars who happen to be around are legendary. The Chieftains, Pete Seeger, Tom Paxton, Liam Clancy and Phil Coulter are just a few of those who have joined the band for their spontaneous sessions.
Eddie recalls how “many musicians have told us we influenced them after hearing a record from their grandparents’ collection”. One such musician was Dave Stewart, formerly of The Eurythmics. Dave was working as a stage hand in a theatre in Newcastle and credited Eddie with teaching him his first chords on the guitar. Eddie would return the compliment by joining Dave on stage in Paris for a jam during the latter’s wedding to Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama.
Eddie and George also love busking. They once busked outside Carnegie Hall in New York, the morning after they had headlined at the venue playing to an ecstatic sell-out audience. A group of unsuspecting passers-by came up to them and said: “you’re really good. One day you might get to play in there.”

Lisa O’Neill’s show, Tones that are Tender and Tones that are Gruff was originally scheduled for March 20. So ticket holders for that date will automatically be transferred to the new date.
Singer-songwriter Lisa O’Neill is one of the most unique talents in Irish music. Her recent album, Heard A Long Gone Song, has received great acclaim both at home and abroad – not least for her ability to frame her remarkable voice against impressionistic accompaniments, like Margaret Barry colluding with the Dirty Three or some such meeting of minds.
Lisa O’Neill’s roots may be sourced in folk and traditional music but her work transcends any arbitrary categorisation. For this once-off curated show, Lisa will be joined by fellow writers and composers, Séamus Fogarty, Kú and Ruth O’Mahony-Brady, to
Irish alt-folk artist, Séamus Fogarty, released his third album A Bag Of Eyes at the end of 2020. His second album for Domino Records, it follows on from the success of 2017’s much-lauded The Curious Hand. He released his debut full-length, God Damn You Mountain, on Scottish label Fence Records in 2012.
Ruth O’Mahony-Brady is a pianist, vocalist and composer from Dublin. Inspired by the synthesis of acoustic elements with electronic textures, her music seeks to combine her beginnings as a classical pianist with her penchant for vintage synths, organs and drum machines.
Kú are Kilian (vocals and guitar), Cathal Caulfield (fiddle), Kinko (bodhrán) and Tom Mulrooney (bass). Emerging from the Dublin folk scene, Kú perform original works exclusively. Their influences are primarily traditional and folk musics, as well as the city of Dublin itself.
