Keep Her Lit is a new folk and traditional music festival set to take place in the village of Inistioge in Co. Kilkenny on August 13-14 in memory of two local figures – musician, Dave Donohoe, and publican, Johnny O’Donnell. The festival programme will include traditional music sessions and intimate concerts, along with music workshops and commemorative forest walks, a food and craft market and more.
Festival organiser, Kasia Kaminska, points out that the inaugural event will feature two all-female evening concerts with Lisa O’Neill (pictured) and Clare Sands at St Mary’s Church of Ireland on Saturday, August 13, and Brigid Mae Power and Niamh Regan at the Cois Abhann Community Centre on Sunday, August 14. Sunday afternoon will also see a free concert in the Millennium Garden with Frankie Lane and friends.
